As reported elsewhere, Home v2.4 will DELETE all your existing Mapshare corrections, and at the moment Mapshare downloads are broken.
Email received from TomTom support today...

Mentioned on another forum, Tomtom have confirmed that the mapshare servers will not be sending out any corrections for a week. This is due to the new version of Home being released and placing excessive load on the download servers.
You can still send in your corrections to Tomtom though, just not receive any!

It is "Harvest Time" though so why should they miss out - the only difference being, the hard work is done by others

Note that ALL means your own corrections as well as downloaded corrections.
Wonderful timing for Mapshare to be down. I have just updated to 810 map for Western and Central Europe and my local area is now more out-of-date than the previous 720 with Mapshare corrections.
Beginning to regret being seduced by TT offer of subscription for map update. Not only is there no Mapshare but IQ Routes wants to send me on the most slow moving and congested route from home to work. At least IQ Routes can be turned off to restore sanity.
Now you know why they call them IQ routes.

Just thought I would try to see if Mapshare was working, and its not. Spoke to TomTom, they are unable to give any estimates as to when it will be up and running.
I just connected up to Home and there is a new Home 2.4 available, so I downloaded it. There are still no Map Shares showing though, although there is some Postcode updates UK & NL.

Regarding your Postcodes, can you check in TT Home, how many sets of Postcode's are you showing. I have just carried out a download, and it's showing that I have 3 sets of Postcodes, 2 for the Nederlands and 1 for the UK. One of the sets of the Nederlands has a small map of the area on the description line.

Hello, sorry my mistake, for some reason beyond me what I actually got was Home 2.4.104 again, which I already had.
The Postcodes I only have one set of UK and one of NL, they are version 701 which I think is the same as before.

No need to apologise, when using TomTom confusion comes free.
Thanks for the info, it would appear, following my latest check on Home, I have now reverted to UK and NL Postcodes v701

So far, I think it's just you and "carl_the_cobbler" on PGPSW who say they still have them.
According to what TomTom themselves told me, Home v2.4 SHOULD have removed them!

v701 for the UK sounds right, but I though The Netherlands should be v704
That's what I've got on v715 mapping.

Just posted
here on the back of Bruces comments and then read this.
Can you remind me how I check which versions I have as seem to recall it saying something like v604 when it was downloading... thank god for back ups!

Just done a re-check on Home = Show Contents of my Go and I can confirm 701 for both UK and NL Postcodes. Do the versions for Postcodes differ dependant of what version of map you have.
Gadget... as Holdfast says, it's "Show contents of my Go" in Home, find the postcodes entry and select "More info" for each. This only works if you have the additional ".ver" files mentioned below, which tell Home the version number.
Holdfast.... TT has been very poor at supplying postcode files. They have been known to neglect to supply new files when you buy a new map and then when people complain they have often provided links to download even older versions than you had already or versions with no ".ver" file attached which is the only way of easily knowing which version it is!
The latest link I know of is
http://tomtom.com/updates/zipcodes/map7/wezipcodes715.zip. This gives v701 for the UK and v710 (not 704 as I said before) for the Nederlands.
Newer versions exist on more recent machines, but I haven't seen them available as a separate download yet.

As I do not envisage a visit to NL in the near future, and as there appears to be all sorts of problems with downloads of old maps and other stuff I will just wait and see what happens
That's a GOOD attitude to take.
Home just offered me the v660 UK_and_Eire map from my years old and long dead old Go300 and the v603 postcodes file to go with it.
Don't think I'll bother either!
Not only is MapShare down, so also are their Safety Camera Updates. These are "supposed" to be updated weekly, and it is now two weeks since anything new has been available.
I contacted TomTom by e-mail and this is their reply:
"It has come to our attention that we are experiencing challenges with our Plus Services Server, which may be affecting some of our customers. Technicians are working hard to resolve this and we hope to have the service available again shortly.
Thank you for your patience and we apologise for the inconvenience".
I hope they will extend my subscription to allow for this.

HOME 2.4.0.104
NA 805/1801 24547 MS (static number since about two weeks)
W&CE 805/1801 235261 MS ( " )
Interestingly, upon Update my GO to confirm the above figures, I was offered
to d/l RDS-TMC supplier data even though I do not have a Traffic model.
Did anyway and installed it.

The following is a part copy of the article 10 Oct by the Site Editors "Tom Tom fixes Map Share distribution.
To make sure no new problems arise, TomTom has opted to activate the distribution of corrections step by step. Today they have started with the specific additions and changes of the first map versions, the rest will follow tomorrow and throughout next week. One important point to note is that from now on Map Share will work with weekly updates instead of daily ones.
I think the question is, when does TomToms week start.

Well, Map-Share as well as QiukGPSFix seem to be working now in Holland.
This time it took only 22 minutes to go from "0" to "190097 corrections. I, like all others, lost all my corrections with the new TT-Home version.
Why in the Hell can't TT put a notice on their Web-Site or on TT Home that there is a problem when they have one. This would save so much anxiety and confusion among their "valued customers"??

Just tried the first MS for 805.1801 W&CE since the server restore.
Had the static number of 235261.
HOME advised 34+ MB MapShares. Final tally is 267137
Total time 7 min. 52 sec. DSL @ 1.66 Mbps.
It is Thanksgiving in Canada and 3 AM in Holland.
That may account for it.

Arno,
Hi... Forgot to mention that the stores in Holland don't open until 1 PM on Mondays

Also that I'm using an older iMac running at 500 MegHertz with a setting of "reported by many" in the MS pref's.
I have cable coming in and it's faily fast, no real hold-ups there but as Andy_P suggested, it could be my processor loading.
Hope all's well in Beautiful Canada...K
