Living in Sweden I am highy interested in this...does anyone know how often it usually takes for Navteq to release new maps to companies and for then to companies to make them available to their users? I'm considering buying a TomTom One Europe... I'd be willing to wait a bit of time befoe buying it if the new maps get put on new navigators that are put for sale faster than they are made available as updates for current owners.

Thanks. smile.gif

You should count on six to eight months, easily. Unless for some reason they release these maps at a higher pace than what is normal of course, but nobody can predict that...

Just seen this on another forum:
QUOTE
I bought my TTGo in the middle of December and it came with maps at version 650. I emailed TomTom about why I didn't have the latest maps etc.. and they said the difference were very small and not worth paying to upgrade but they plan to introduce another map at the end of April next year.

That's the first I've heard, very suprised this should come from TT support as the last ones have only just appeared.

Heard any whispers about it? search.gif

The latest TomTom map update is new stuff for US and Canada and maybe they thought that person wouldn't be interested if they are from Europe. Its free if you've just purchased a 510, 910, or ONE so you can get it if you're interested, until March 31. But I haven't heard anything else past that. Maybe they're expecting TeleAtlas to churn out a newer version with their Map Insight program which only got out of beta a little while ago.
