QUOTE
It’s now no longer possible to set the POI categories of TomTom safety cams according to your own wishes. Only one warning sound remains available to notify the user of upcoming safety cams, and the warning distance is standard set at 500 meters now and cannot be altered anymore. Very annoying!

I'm very annoyed Rob 0t as well, I hate the submarine siren let hope people will stop buying the speed cam alerts they might start listening
Cheers

I installed this on my brand-new TT One and it has killed my computer connectivity!

I connect to my PC, switch on my TT ONE and get this sequence:

(1)Splash screen
(2)Legal notice, which automatically goes on to
(3)Screen, do you want to connect to PC? I answer 'yes'
(4)TT Screen blanks then goes back to (1)

I have tried a 'reset' but it has made no difference!
I have submitted this to TT support, so will now have to wait for an answer before I can connect to my PC.

Just a bit ticked off!

It was sooo scary to look at the gps reflash screen, but now it seems to be up again. Trying to sync satellites, as all previously cached info was gone it seems.

being inside home doesn't help =)

Btw, QuickGPSFix issue (error downloading 0... etc) on the 910 seems to be fixed. Not sure if it does anything, but at least the error is gone

Does the speed camera limitation only apply to the TT DB?

I'm using th PGPS DB and the real voice prompts and I certainly don't want to be stuck with one sound and a fixed warning distance of 500 (yds/meters).

Silly translations are in new features too =)
I don't think this existed in previous releases, but I can't be sure. Under docking preferences, one of the options in english says "Instructions mute car radio". Meaning that, when the device speaks it'll mute your radio. Fine. Now, to the Spanish translation.... =) "Cómo desactivar la radio". Ie, translated ... "How to deactivate the radio". I guess somebody needs a how-to for that! =)

I reported the issue, and hopefully they'll do nicer translations in future, rather than google autotranslations ;))

Just in case anyone wonders, the correct translation should be something like "Las instrucciones silencian la radio"

Yes, it only applies to their own DB. Actually I don't know why it was even mentioned on the article. It's nothing new. The same limitation existed, at least on the version 6.510

It's weird, but they are giving advantage to the 3rd party speed cameras using normal POIs, as you can use varied sounds, t2speech and distances for those

Just updated my 700 to 6.52 and it works.

I've also updated the PGPS speed cameras and changed the warnings to the .ogg file version instead of the data.chk file swap. That seems to work too. So now I have voice warnings for all the speed cameras and I've still got all the bells and whistles for anything else. smile.gif

Well, after two resets of my ONE and a restart of my PC it all seems to be working now, but the whole episode has left me a bit worried blink.gif

Well, all went well until I disconnected my ONE from my PC and then when I tried to connect again, it started doing the same thing all over again ---- Arrrrg. cray.gif

Dont know about anyone else but after installing the V6.520 firmware my TomTom 510 seems to start up alot faster! It used to take around 30 seconds now it takes around 10 seconds!. Maybe it make's better use of my upgraded Highspeed 2GB Datawrite SD Card.
