well 2 hours of battery stinks...

if they make the ONE mark 2 with 5+ hours of battery time then it will be perfect.

Looks like the size is not the only thing TomTom slimmed down. The CPU processor has been downgraded to 288Mhz as opposed to the original TomTom ONE's 388Mhz. Does this mean the new TomTom will struggle with smooth map progress and delay at times. Also the battery time of 2 hours for TomTom Mk11 is just not good enough as opposed to 3.5 hours in my TomTom ONE Mk1.
Cheers

Other pocket devices like the Magellan eXplorist 600 last around 17hours with a color screen, and they don't even need to switch off the lcd for that. The purpose of them is a little bit different, but they do very similar stuff.

yes it does, check the garmin handheld units.. battery time approx 17+ hours. (on regular alkalines though)

or check the FSC Pocketloox N100 with a regular Li-ion battery, it got approx 7 hours of battery time and it's the smallest one on the market.

just wondering since it uses the same antenna as the other tomtoms and also uses the same format and firmware. what are the real advantages of owning a tomtom one compared to the x10 series besides the size and price tag.

Well, TomTom needs to release their new maps for older model such as 700 model instead of coming up with new model and create more headache for new buyers.
We bought 15 of these units from CDW about 7 months ago for our company and everyone return their units back at the very bigining except me. I think I had so much fait on them but I was wrong.
Anyway, it is a nice looking units but what if this unit has issues and limitation???????????
