Hi,

I have just upgraded my TTG 300 to 6.15 and all appears OK apart from the fact that when you see a speed camera location on the map it appears as a Star-(so *). I think before the upgrade they used to appear as a camera with the speed on it. This is NOT the warning as you approach one, that seems ok, but the general view of all cameras on the map at the time.

I have checked the .bmp files and they seem to be the same as before.

The speed camera database is the one from pocketgps.

I would be grateful for ideas??

Thanks in advance

Eric

The icon with the star is used for cameras where the speed is unknown, such as variable speed on the M25 etc. I've just checked on my Go and it shows the different speeds on the icons on Browse Map.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for your reply. When I did someplaying around with the new features etc I noticed that the Postcode POI's warning had been enabled somehow, presumably during the upgrade.

This is fact what was showing on the maps not speed cameras.

I have disabled them and they have gone from the map, also now i notice a local camera is correctly displayed.

Alls well that ends well!!

Thanks to all

Eric

Should Safety Cameras be listed under the POI section?

I have a TT300 and have just upgraded my map (as they dont have GB I have GB, IE and main roads in WE). I also bought the safety cameras - but cant see anything under POI.

Do these just automatically appear?

Thanks for any pointers.

Floob.

I think they have been moved to plus services, not sure where exactly as I don't use tomtom traffic

I dont have the traffic service, but bought the safety cameras. Drove about a bit and it does tell me when there is one about (wonder how often the list is updated).
So that seems to work - just a bit weird I cant seem to see the cameras under the POI - I guess it is just added transparently.

TomTom cameras now under Plus Services and not POIs at all.
PocketGPSWorld cameras still done via POI system.

You'll also find you cannot change either the warning distance or the alert sound for the TomTom version anymore.
Another "improvement" by TomTom....
