So I've installed the 6.15 update and now the "My Rider" section of Tom Tom Home has stopped working with the device, giving the message: "At this time there is no component available which is compatible with your Tom Tom device".

My TomTom 700 go is working well with 6.15, just like it did with the others.
Well done TT |

Why don't they select users from this forum to beta test this stuff before they release and break peoples devices. Come on TomTom, sort it out.

Hi,
Just updated "again" from 6.14 to 6.15, painless..... Mobile V3x still connects and no freezing, not sure about the control as thats in the car at the moment. Ray's Voice updates work (not the extended)...... TT Home makes it sooooo easy..... Cheers Darren J -------------------- Tom Tom Go 700 :-)

None of those issues affect me, but I think I'll upgrade anyway. I always like to have my gadgets as up to date as possible and routinely ignore the adage 'if it aint broke'...
Now that the firmware issue is (hopefully) resolved, perhaps TT will have some spare time to dedicate to getting the new maps out. Lee -------------------- |

I have GO 700 and with 6.15 I can not plan in HOME. Well it might go some time before we get new maps. TT has enough to do with the 6.XX Soon we will get the 6.16
Nice to have backup !!!!!!!!! |

Just changed from 6.14 to 6.15. All straight forward and no problems.
This was done with Tripmaster in situ. Also spoken speed warnings by Vikki. Only a change to data.chk required. All correct selections remained. Excellent. Incidentally, no problems with planning on "HOME". Although it did require downloading of some code which was sorted by "HOME". Remote control functioning normally, as it has done with previous versions of 6.xx This post has been edited by davideo0: Aug 3 2006, 14:42 -------------------- David

Try restarting the HOME application! After that, you can use the device from the PC again. Tried that and it didn't work, however I then re-booted the PC and reconnected my Rider. This time when Tom Tom Home came up and I went to the Planning section I got a message "You need to download an extra component to enable this functionality" or something simiilar - when I clicked the button it downloaded another zip file and everything is working again. For now... This post has been edited by roly: Aug 3 2006, 14:48 |

This version has fixed the problem with Home not finding the maps on the Classic. I can now set the PIN and plan routes.
A worthwhile upgrade for me. -------------------- TTGo Classic 7.163 - Map: UK v710.1571

Hi All, I have been using my Go Classic for years now without any trouble at all (Well, to be honest it does reboot itself on trips, wierd really, only happens when I'm in certain parts of the country) Anyway, what I would like to know is : Is there, honestly, a real need for Go Classic users like myself to bother upgrading to this new freeware? I cannot see any value at all in upgrading, and by all accounts todate, it seems that the latest freeware has not yet been adequelty tested and appears to have been rushed out as yet another 'quick fix' at end users time, cost and frustration. Reminds me when Messrs Gates did the same trick with Windows release getting users to bug test it for him! Anyway views would be appriciated, what say you the 'Go Classic' users? Regards, Rik |

If you want to use the new maps that are due soon(?), I think that you need the latest software update. Being able to set a PIN is useful too. As I am a Geocacher, the ability to input coordinates as a destination is invaluable. -------------------- TTGo Classic 7.163 - Map: UK v710.1571

It really depends what system you are running. Version 5 added a lot of functionality. Then later v5 versions lost the number of PoIs.
The main difference in v6 is the PoI categories are now 100 instead of 39 (or27!) -------------------- GO700 - 8GB CF Card - System 7.162 - W&CE Map 6.75 - NA Map 7.20 - Saab 9-5 Aero Sportwagon Hirsch 300 + satnav
