Hi there, looks like a great forum so I've just joined!

I've had a Mio 269 for a few years now and upgraded maps along the way, now it seems that map upgrades of any kind are not available.

It works reasonably so I don't want to spend loads on a new one, is there a way of installing another OS on it? Is this legal?

I appreciate rules are rules so if I'm asking a bad question tell me, I just want to know if it will end up being so out of date it's a paperweight.

Welcome, you may also notice this is a very quiet forum lazy.gif

The main content was also tomtom related and has now moved to it's own site.

I expect putting another OS on any device is legal, but it's the mapping data that is usually licensed to one specific device/os combo.

As for being out of date, the majority of roads never move for centuries biggrin.gif so you only really need to update if you find the roads have been rebuilt or added near you and are becoming inconvenient.
