Hi,
New here so please excuse what may be silly or preciously asked question. Is there a brand of Navigation system which does (or can easily be adapted) to run Ordnance Survey, or similar (Fugawi, Multimap) mapping. I need a system which will show my location on a map (off road). I have a Tomtom and have asked on that Forum but it doesnt appear feasilble, i also have an old Navman (but think its getting past it now, takes ages to find a satelite signal) A friend of mine uses an old laptop and a GPS reciever wired together running 'Fugawi' mapping. I was hoping for the same result but in a smaller simpler package. Thanks R |

Have you considered a PDA running a Topo Mapping package and also loaded with the on road navigation software? - this offers what you want but is a compromise, it is also possible to use Topo maps on some mobile phones, the PDA based phones are easy to get working, the newer Nokia devices will also support this.
If you want a PNA for on and off road use look at the Road Angel 7000 Navigator, although having tried one I would never recommend it - Mike |
