I bet the word "free" won't appear on the UK version for long!

Why not?
It's just MapShare.... P.S. I wonder how you get the black background that's on some of those screens. I've not found any way to do that yet.... |

Never mind updating the navcore icons, when are they going to improve the awful navigation screen?

Never mind updating the navcore icons, when are they going to improve the awful navigation screen? Actually, I find the Nav screen the one thing I would keep the same. I find other units have either too much info or it is scattered over the map. Being able to dock just what I want on the right side of the wide screen leaves an almost perfectly clear screen. Now if I can only get rid of that annoying Quick Menu green arrow thingy I'd be even happier. -------------------- Dan

It will then disappear. |

Never mind updating the navcore icons, when are they going to improve the awful navigation screen? If you don't give any more detail than that, it's no wonder! What don't you like? I FAR prefer it to the Garmin alternative. Have you ever contacted TomTom and made constructive suggestions? |

I FAR prefer it to the Garmin alternative. I could not agree more. It’s the only bit TT have not messed up (apart from the distance warning on the cameras….. and the daft 2 mile warnings on the motorway exits all being naff now). Don’t let those numptys in the TT sales dept tell TT that they need to change that bit, it's the only thing that stops me chucking them all out of the window. It's way better than anything else out there. -------------------- It is a mistake to allow any mechanical object to realize you are in a hurry.

Love the new graphics, they're like the b***ard offspring of Google Maps and Apple. For those of us who use those products, it provides a reasonably familiar interface. I've had my map colourscheme the same as google for years. If I need to travel long distances I always double check googlemaps first. When you're driving along it's better to see a map design similar to the one that you are already familiar with.
It could be possible that you can now customise the background colour. Anything but that orange colour I've seen in screenshots of v8. (Just noticed the orange on this forum |

I wonder if the delay of getting Navcore 8 on my Go 700 is because they had 8.2 in development. Or maybe they just don't plan on adding it at all as the new maps just released are 7.25.

Please add to the wishlist thread your wants and must-haves. I'm going to summarize and send to TomTom. |

Ah that would explain why I never saw it, I just use day colours on reduced brightness at night.

would just like the option to turn the big ugly status bar off, or at least have a reduced size one if you dont want all the info, all i have selected is street name and next turn, dont use ETA, distance remaining, time, speed, etc. also a partially translucent status bar would look much better.

also a partially translucent status bar would look much better. What makes you think there's anything underneath it to show! Seriously, that (or having a smaller status bar) would mean having to generate and display more actual map data. Maybe that would increase processor load too much? I don't know... But I can see the appeal of a "Full screen" display option. |
