Hi all...
Does anyone have any internal information if Tomtom will work on NavCore7 for AVN2210p? To use Brazilian maps, one of the requirement is having NavCore7. For now, Tomtom gave me no information about development of version 7 for this PND. Thanks a lot!!! Leo |

Tomtoms support page only suggests using 'home' to check for updates the same as all the other tomtom products.

Hi Jolly.
Problem is: I still didn't order this PND. This is one of the information (if model will be compatible or not with NAVCORE7) that I need to decide if I order AVN2210p or not. As you can see, I STILL have no problems! Kind Regards, Leo |

I've not heard of ANY news on a possible "Navigaor 7".
Is there not a v6 version of the Brazil map available? |

I highly recommend everybody DO NOT install 7.481 on a TomTom GO x20 series device. I made the mistake of doing so, and it is absolutely riddled with bugs - the worst of which make your GPS almost completely unuseable.
Bugs include: * Inability to search for street addresses (and sometimes even cities) - the device alternately says to "wait a moment" or displays a mostly grayed out screen with the only possibility being to press back when you get bored of waiting (I've waited over ten minutes, and nothing ever happens). The only way to make a route when this happens is to choose a POI (if you're able to - see below), select a recent or stored address, or browse the map and find your destination manually. * Intermittent inability to search for POIs - either near you, near your destination, or along your route. It is also completely impossible to search for POIs in a given city, because whenever the POIs start working, the ability to select city names stops working (as described above), preventing you selecting the city in which to browse POIs. * Incorrect verbal directions (I've been told to bear right when the map clearly showed I was supposed to bear left) These are by far the worst three bugs and are complete showstoppers for using this firmware. Using 7.481 I've also experienced glitches where the device forgets its volume, screen brightness, nighttime color scheme, startup sound, and Quick Menu contents. Oh, and using the current firmware with the current version of TomTom Home, the built-in backup engine doesn't work. It will *tell* you that the device has been correctly backed up (and it does *seem* to do so, as it takes a while) - but when you attempt to restore the backup, the device fairly obviously doesn't even try to restore anything or even check what needs to be restored, as within about 1.5 - 2 seconds of pressing restore, TomTom Home says the backup has been restored (and checking the device confirms nothing that has been removed since the backup was replaced, nor was anything deleted from the device which had been added since the last backup). Frankly, TomTom v7.481 needs to be withdrawn from the TomTom site immediately, and replaced with an older working version until the many bugs in it have been squashed. |

QUOTE the built-in backup engine doesn't work That's not a bug, it has always done that Equally although the software is buggy, there are also errors in the embedded map data that cause problems too |
