The introduction of the TomTom GO x40 last week at the IFA fair in Berlin offered us the opportunity to take a peek at the latest version of TomTom's navigational software - NavCore 8.2. We were in for a nice surprise because we soon found out that TomTom had changed the look of the software and given it a completely fresh appearance.TomTom has clearly put its designers to work. Every icon in every menu has been completely re-designed and seems much more contemporary. Of course tastes differ, but we, for one, like the new look of NavCore a lot.
Other devices
Apart from future TomTom x40 owners, this could also be good news for owners of earlier TomTom models, because, if TomTom's policy from the past is anything to go by, we should expect a version of the new NavCore for older devices as well. Of course this does not mean all (LIVE) features will be available for those devices, and some features will only work with new maps.Anyway, yourNAV wouldn't be yourNAV if we didn't offer you a detailed look at how NavCore 8.2 will look. This is probably how the screen of your Tomtom will look in a couple of months...
