MiTAC International Corp., the mother company behind Mio's navigational devices has extended the existing agreement for using Tele Atlas maps. This means Mio will continue to use Tele Atlas maps for it's entire range of navigational products.2011
The current agreement between, MiTAC and Tele Atlas, which has run since 2005 has been extended for three years. So devices like the Mio Moov will continue to use Tele Atlas maps until 2011. This is also true for the Navman range which was recently acquired by Mio.Thanks to this new deal both Mio and Navman products will be updated with Tele Atlas' newest map technologies. This means TeleAtlas' 74 countries, TeleAtlas 3D Landmarks, TeleAtlas Digital Elevation Model, TeleAtlas Safety Cameras, and a database of 30 million POIs.
