Even though Sony have given up the European PND market, they are still active in the US market where they have just released four new models.

Last April we reported that Sony had called it quits with regards to the European navigational market. They did mention they would still release new products in the US and Asian markets though. It seems this has happened now: Sony has just released four new Nav-U models, the NV-U94T, NV-U84, NV-U74T and the NV-U44.
High end
The new top of the range model is the NV-U94T, which is extremely thin and features a 4.8" touch screen with gesture recognition. Other features include handsfree phoning, RDS-TMC, Bluetooth audio streaming (A2DP) to a compatible Bluetooth enabled car-stereo system (like some of Sony's own Xplod head units), photo viewing and a hardware-based accelerometer/barometer system known as Position Plus that tries to track your position when the SatNav looses contact with the GPS satellites for a moment (as you could when driving through a tunnel or underneath dense foliage). This new model will cost $ 400.
Value
The NV-U84 is the 'value' model in Sony's large screen segment. For about $ 350 it offers the large 4.8" screen with 16:9 aspect ratio, dual-view text-to-speech, Bluetooth hands free, real time traffic, a photo viewer and gesture command. The NV-U74T offers the same, but with 'only' a 4.3" screen. The NV-U44 model with its 3.5" screen is the entry level model, yet it still offers most of the features of the NV-U74T and NV-U84. It is very affordable with its $ 250 price.
