Mio shows Moov with integrated SIMMio’s Moov range will soon be expanded. The manufacturer had presented the new Moov 380 to the general public at the Computex fair in Taipei (3 – 7 June). The device features a SIM card slot for GPRS connectivity and phoning.

Local Search
This new hardware in the Moov 380 is meant for Mio’s new "Local Search" service. This is a dynamic search function with which addresses and phone numbers of shows, restaurants or companies can be easily tracked down. All these locations can be directly searched and accessed locally with the use of a GPRS connection.

Mio Europe could not yet confirm if and when the Moov 380 will be available in our region. But rest assured this Explora, as the 380 is also called, will be available in the shops after the summer.

PND Camera
Another interesting announcement from Mio is the so-called PND camera (see photo below article), a merger of a personal navigational device and a digital photo camera. We haven’t got a lot of information on this new device yet, other than it will feature a 3.5 inch touch screen, but it’s clear that Mio will try and give NavPix a boost with this. The NavPix service was acquired from Navman together with the camera technology when Mio took over that company last year.
