While the days are shortening, most navigational manufacturers are already busy with the preparations of the most important sales period of the year. Because if there is one period in the year when the annual turnover can be greatly improved, it’s the months of November and December, when lots of customers are on a hunt for the perfect Christmas gift.Market researchers claim that this year the PND will be a more popular choice than ever. No wonder all the different manufacturers are introducing new models. Gamin has aimed its arrows at the women: the company will soon introduce a pink edition of their nüvi.
Mass product
Ted Gartner, spokesman for Garmin claimed to Reuters: "Judging from our sales and revenue, it's obvious that navigation has transitioned from a niche product to one with mass market appeal.” Apart from the women-nüvi, the company will also promote the existing nüvi 200 series as a modern and trendy device for young consumers. Not new
The PND made especially for women is not new. In June of last year, we reported on the pink Digital Buddy from the company Intempo Digital, which was then about to appear. And in September of the same year, Mio released its H610 handheld, and also marketed it as the ultimate Personal Navigation Device for women. We have no news yet on the price and availability of this new pink nüvi, but we expect Garmin will release those soon.
