Following Packard Bell, another traditionally PC producing manufacturer is shipping a series of PNDs. By the end of November their new P600 series is expected in through the usual retail channels.Basic
With regards to features, this new P600 series can hardly be called revolutionary. A 400MHz Samsung CPU, 64 MB of internal memory, a SiRF Star III chipset, support for MP3 playback and photo-viewing capabilities are hardly new in PND land. Also, the 4 inch screen with a 480 x 272 pixel resolution is not really state-of-the-art anymore. Since text-to-speech capabilities and hands free calling through Bluetooth are missing from the feature list, these new series can rightfully be called a 'low-end' product. The P600 has a height (81 mm) and depth (23 mm) comparable to the new TomTom ONE New Edition. Because of the bigger screen, the unit is a bit wider though: 116 mm. It also weighs a bit more: 195 grams compared to the ONE's 174 grams.
