Packard Bell, one of the traditional consumer electronics manufacturers, well known for their personal computers, is clearly still looking for their own niche in the PND-market. The GPS 400, which was introduced early this year, was replaced by the Compasseo 500 and 600 last August. And now Packard Bell is already replacing this latter model with the 620.Memory
The changes are minor though. The device uses a 2 GB memory card now containing NAVTEQ maps of Western Europe. These maps are also shipped with the unit on a separate DVD disc, which is handy should anything go wrong with the SD card.Just like the former model, the Compasseo is also capable of playing MP3 files and displaying photos. More advanced features like hands free phoning or text-to-speech functionality aren't supported by the device.
This new Compasseo weighs 166 grams, and measures 9.4 x 7.4 x 1.8 centimetres which is identical to its predecessor. The device also features a 3.5 inch touch screen, a 266 MHz CPU, 64 MB of internal memory and a car mount. All Compasseos are shipped with the most recent Destinator navigational software.
