This fall, Navman will bring four new PND's to the market: the Navman F20, N20, N40i and N60i. This foursome should strengthen Navman's position on entry-level market and are design-wise very equal to the Navman iCN 720 and 750, which were released last March.

Software
Apart from the same appearance, the new PND's also use the same SmartST software as the 720/750 and all are equipped with a SiRF Star III chipset.

But there are also differences: the N-series are 20% slimmer than the iCN7xx series, only the Navman N40i and N60i will feature a built-in camera for use with NavPix, and the N60i features a nice 4,3 inch 480x272 pixel screen. The other 3 PND's 'only' use a 'normal' 3,5 inch touch screen.

The new Navman's are shipped with the 2006.1 maps by Tele Atlas and will be available in the United Kingdom from leading e-tailers and high street stores starting mid-September 2006.

I've been an avid Navman purchaser for years, what a mistake!! I bought the iCN 630 for £800 followed by an iCN 520 for £300 and just recently an F20 for nearly £200. I have always had issues and always Navmans customer service has told me that ALL the problems with the mapping is down to their map suppliers. What a load of cods wallup!! I just borrowed my friends 2 year old TomTom and it's mapping is not only significantly better than mine (even on F20) but I can actually choose options such as avoid motorways and avoid roadblocks. Be warned in my experience Navmans products leave ALOT to be desired but perhaps even worst than this their customer service is based around making excuses that in my view seem more like outright fibs. So my advise is research VERY carefully before buying.

As for me, based on yourNAV's review I'm returning the F20 and purchasing the Tom Tom One!
