According to sources around the company, German based Becker, already pretty successful in the PND market with their Traffic Assist Highspeed model, will release two new variants to this series this year: the Traffic Assist Pro and the Traffic Assist Highspeed II.

Pro
The first newcomer, the Traffic Assist Pro (see photo), will become available this September. Based on the info which we have at our disposition now, the specifications of the device will be on par with those of most current PND devices: a powerful 400 Mhz CPU, 64 MB of RAM and the renowned SiRF Start III GPS signal receiver chipset. A not-so-standard part is the large 4 inch touchscreen of the Pro.

What is very special about this new Becker, is the possibility to control the device with your voice. For that, 200 instructions have been hard-coded, of but course there's also the possibility of adding more instructions of your own. As far as we know, Becker is the first PND manufacturer to introduce this novelty in PND land!

The Pro supports the playing of MP3 files and the showing of .JPG files. 37 European countries –NAVTEQ maps- are shipped with the unit on a 2 GB SD card. This PND will cost 499 euro for the unit, and TMC will be available as an option for another 80 euro extra.

Complete specifications of the Traffic Assist Pro are available in the Product File.

Highspeed II
Later on this year, Becker will release the successor to the currect Traffic Assist Highspeed, the Highspeed II. Most important novelty with this unit is the standard support for TMC for use in Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, The United Kingdom, Italy, The Netherlands, Austria, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. This Becker unit will be available for the price of 449 euro.

Complete specifications of the Traffic Assist Highspeed II are available in the Product File.
