Personal Navigational Devices: handy for many, invaluable for some, but popular with all. Still, there is something strange going on. Because eventhough women have a reputation for having little or no sense of direction, it still mostly men who purchase PND devices. Electronics-manufacturer Intempo Digital wants to bring the equilibrium back between the sexes by introducing the Buddy.Boring
Rhianon Lucas, Brand Manager with Intempo Digital, explains the motivational reasons for the Buddy's introduction: "More and more women today are buying technology but they also demand beautiful looking gadgets. Sat Nav has been boring for too long and the GPS market is saturated with dull looking products. We felt there was a definite gap for Buddy, which is both simple to use and stylish."The ladies won't lack anything in the technical department, that's for sure. Because the Buddy's specifications look very good indeed: 3,5 inch touch screen, 64 MB memory and the famous SiRF Star III GPS-chipset. All this put together into a compact housing (112x73x18 mm), only weighing 200 grams on the scales. The PND is shipped standard with a NAVTEQ map of the local region.
The complete specifications of the Buddy can be consulted in our Product File.
The Buddy will become available next week in the UK, and will cost £ 299 (¤ 440,-). At the moment, Intempo is still looking for distributors in other countries. We'll keep you posted ...
